WELCOME TO WINTERSEA THEATRE EXPERIMENT
WinterSea Theatre Experiment focuses on classical works done in new ways, new works and the yet-to-be created. The piece is not as important as the creativity brought to it and the process that arises.
WinterSea Theatre Experiment sees performance art as the artful weaving of music, theatre and movement in non-traditional ways with the purpose of reaching the heart-center of the artist and the audience. WinterSea believes that the messages often underlying artistic expression of art best touch our humanity and find resonance when approached in this creative way, bypassing our thinking self, exciting our senses, and interacting with our inner feeling self for lasting impact.

The Weft and Weave of the Way: Elevating and Deepening the Reach of Spoken Word with Music and Sound

In this generative poetry and sound workshop, Lisa Ann Reilich and Gary Bushee will first create a framework for our experimental time together by sharing on their process collaboratively creating “Storm Damage,” their musical poetry performance.
From this grounding, we will then work together in our circle as a group to generate short spoken word pieces in which we individually and collectively explore enhancing them with instruments, common household items as well as our own voices, finding the fullness and ripening of the senses and meaning through this multisensory journey. Our word and sound circle experience will give participants tools to spark new creative pathways and collaborations with fellow poets/artists.
